War and rumors of war,
The whole world shudders at the touch of a madman.
War and rumors of war,
How much longer can this world stand?
Surely we learned this lesson a long, long time ago,
The war to end all wars, don’t you know?
In the greatness of our wisdom,
Just look how far we have come!
When will we see, war begins in you and me?
The pomposity, atrocity of man –
you know, he had a better plan.
The creator of the universe needed his helping hand,
The Rock of Ages, for sinking sand.
War and rumors of war,
The whole world shudders at the touch of a madman.
War and rumors of war,
How much longer can this world stand?
Greed and anger, lust and pride, so freely rage within,
How can peace be born in the hearts of men?
Dare we call it sin?
We’ll make some rules, we’ll all agree,
Then break them all and we’ll all be free!
Maybe if we keep trying we’ll get it right someday,
Unless we run out of time before we find the Way.
Maybe God isn’t really dead,
Maybe He meant what He said,
“I am the Way, the Truth, and Life…”
War and rumors of war,
The whole world shudders at the touch of a madman.
War and rumors of war,
How much longer can this world stand?
