    England Germanv Switzerland Spain and Italy In 1S85 he founded at Paris an 
    organ school subsidized by the government from which many excellent pupils 
    have
   graduated As a comp he is a devotee of the severe style has publ numerous 
    large organ pieces more than 300 Gregorian and plain song compositions an 
    Album Gregorien in 2 vol s a vol of Pieces breves and vocal morceaux Is an 
    esteemed mus writer and critic Commander of the order of Isabella la 
    Catolica officer of public instruction since 1835 and Chev of the Legion of 
    Honor since 1895  |
